Why use an FER member?
The Federation was set up to improve and advance the
standards of engineering within the engine re-manufacturing and
re-conditioning industry. To this end the Federation sets, as its
minimum standard, the British Standard BS AU 257: 1995. Every member
has to agree to work to this standard and there are checks to ensure
they comply.
All of this is designed to ensure that if a customer
uses an FER member, he or she can do so with confidence, knowing
that they will receive good quality work, which is guaranteed for
twelve months and the back up of the Federations Complaints
procedure should things go wrong.
All members pride themselves on the work they do.
They are all professional people with an enormous amount of skill
and expertise in their field. They are also extremely enthusiastic
about their work and engines in particular. Customers can go to
a member and discuss their requirements knowing they will get a
straight answer to the query. This may not always be the one they
want to hear (perhaps the engine is beyond repair!), but it will
be a truthful one based on many years experience in dealing with
engines.
The service of an FER member does not stop at just
rebuilding an engine or skimming a head. All members have an extensive
knowledge of automotive parts and components, and their quality.
They will be willing to discuss your requirements with you, and
offer help and advice as to which is the best product for your use.
They can also supply you with these components from a range of quality
suppliers.
As with all things, there are good, and not so good
products on the market; by talking to an FER member, you can be
sure of receiving sound advice and a competitive price for the product.
There are many unscrupulous engine re-manufacturers
in business who would not even qualify to be members of the FER.
They charge a cheap price for a cheap job. This is all very well
until the engine supplied goes wrong (which always seems to be many
miles from home in the pouring rain!). To avoid this, and ensure
that the product you get is top class then use a member.
Remember, when using an FER Member you get:
-
Years of skill and experience
-
A top quality job or replacement
-
Quality parts and components
-
Value for money (not necessarily the cheapest)
-
The backing of a National Organization
-
Peace of mind
-
This is why we are constantly getting referrals from
the motoring organizations such as the AA.
