Benefits of FER membership

Membership of the FER brings prestige to member companies and is a real differentiator for bona fide companies. It can assist those interested in their industry to influence its future and so represents real value for money with these and the following member benefits

Technical Support
Technical support is provided through the FER technical committee and members’ knowledge. Technical data sheets regularly issued and members forum for discussion of topical technical points.

Engine Inspections
The Federation holds a list of approved consulting engineers who will carry out engineering inspections and write full reports in the event of disputes over engine or component failures.

Code of Practice
The Federation has a Code of Practice, compliance with which is mandatory for members. This not only helps to position the FER in the forefront of the industry but also to protect the consumer by including a comprehensive Approved Warranty plus a Complaints, Conciliation and Arbitration service.

Legal Support
Through its legal and business helpline, members have free access to a range of advisory services on legal, personnel, VAT, health and safety, tax, payroll and employment matters.

Marketing and Public Relations
The Federation is committed to promoting the interests of its members by informing the trade and public of the benefits of using an FER member through trade shows and other activities. We also take a wider view in lobbying government over issues that affect our members, and are in discussion with colleagues in Europe to ensure we are abreast of the European perspective on our industry.

Members Newsletter
The FER produces the house journal “ConRod” to keep members informed of latest topics, news & views, personnel changes in the industry and events / meetings.

Regional Organization and Meetings
Each FER region organizes regular meetings for technical discussion, technical lecture programmes, work visits and social events. These also afford the opportunity to discuss issues with other re-manufacturers.

Use of FER logo
This may be used by members in advertising and promotional material to differentiate their services from competitors.

Staff Training schemes

Courses on specific aspects of engine re-manufacture are run regularly for staff of member companies.
